Enjoying Motorhomes - Drivers Licence
Posted on February, 2010

You'll need to make sure your driving licence has the right vehicle category for you to drive a motorhome. Drivers with a B licence (Standar Car Driving Licence) can drive a motorhome weighing up to 3, 500 kg MTPLM. While Drivers with a C licence or over can drive a vehicle from 3,500 kg, 7,500 kg MTPLM/MAM (maximum technically permissable laden mass/ maximum authorised mass). If the driver wishes to drive a motorhome of 3.501 kg MTPLM – 7500kg MTPLM, they must take an additional test to obtain a C1 licence. For all drivers: Over 7,500 kg MTPLM a full C driving licence is required, which in turn means passing the relevant C test.
